Lincoln Aviator: Wipers and Washers / Removal and Installation - Windshield Wiper Pivot Arm

General Equipment
Removal
NOTE:
RH shown, LH similar.
NOTE:
The hood is removed in this step for clarity.

Disconnect the washer hose elbow connector from the grommet.
-
If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Unclip the heated wiper blade electrical wire harness from the cowl panel grille.
-
If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Remove the LH access panel.
-
If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Disconnect the heated wiper blade electrical connector and position aside the wire harness.
-
Remove the windshield wiper pivot arm nut cover.
-
Remove the windshield wiper pivot arm nut.
-
Remove the wiper pivot arm.
Use the General Equipment: Two Leg Puller
Installation
-
Verify the windshield wiper motor is in the PARK position.
-
Turn the ignition ON.
-
Pull the switch down to cycle the windshield wiper motor.
-
Turn the ignition OFF.
-
Install the wiper pivot arm.
-
Align the wiper blade with the marks on the windshield.
-
Install the wiper pivot arm nut.
Torque:
22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Install the windshield wiper pivot arm nut cover.
-
If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Connect the heated wiper blade electrical connector and position the wire harness.

If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Install the LH access panel.

If equipped with heated wiper blades.
Clip the heated wiper blade electrical wire harness to the cowl panel grille.
-
Connect the washer hose elbow connector to the grommet.
