A1 CHECK THE OPERATION OF THE PARKING LAMPS |
-
Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position and observe the front parking lamps.
-
Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position and observe the headlamps.
Do the parking lamps operate correctly?
Yes |
If only the LH or the RH front parking lamp Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are inoperative, GO to A2
If the all front parking lamp Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are inoperative, GO to A3
|
No |
REFER to: Parking, Rear and License Plate Lamps (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Diagnosis and Testing).
|
|
A2 CHECK THE TOP MOUNTED HEADLAMP LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE)
CONTROL MODULE |
-
Connect all disconnected connectors.
-
Substitute the known good top mounted headlamp LED control module from the opposite headlamp.
-
Using a diagnostic scan tool, carry out the BCM
LIN New Module Initialization.
-
Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), Repeat
the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver) and cycle the
ignition OFF and ON. Test the system for normal operation.
Does the suspect daytime running lamp operate?
Yes |
REMOVE the known good top mounted headlamp LED control module. INSTALL a new top mounted headlamp LED control module. REFER to: Light Emitting Diode (LED) Control Module (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
|
No |
REMOVE the known good top mounted headlamp LED control module. INSTALL a new headlamp assembly. REFER to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
|
|
A3 CHECK THAT THE DRL (DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS)
ARE ENABLED |
-
For conventional DRL, check if the DRL are enabled through a diagnostic scan tool.
-
For configurable DRL, check if the DRL are enabled through the IPC.
Are the DRL enabled?
No |
For conventional DRL, Using a diagnostic scan tool, ENABLE the DRL.
For configurable DRL, ENABLE the DRL. REFER to the Owner's Literature for information on enabling the DRL.
|
|
A4 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE)
OPERATION |
-
Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
-
Repair:
-
corrosion (install new connector or terminals – clean module pins)
-
damaged or bent pins – install new terminals/pins
-
pushed-out pins – install new pins as necessary
-
Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
-
Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
Yes |
CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA.
If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and
FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address
this concern, INSTALL a new BCM. REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, Removal and Installation).
|
No |
The system is operating correctly at this time. The
concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root
cause of any connector or pin issues.
