Lincoln Aviator: Automatic Transmission External Controls - 10-Speed Automatic Transmission – 10R60 / Removal and Installation - Transmission Park Manual Release Cable

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. With the vehicle in N, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the transmission park manual release cable bracket bolt.
    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
  1. Disconnect the transmission park manual release cable from the transmission lever and bracket assembly.
  1. Remove the transmission park manual release cable grommet nuts.
    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
  1. Remove the floor console.
    Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the bolt, disconnect the retainer and remove the transmission park manual release cable lever.
    Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
