Lincoln Aviator: Second Row Seats / Removal and Installation - Second Row Center Seat Backrest Cover

Interior Trim Remover

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the second row center seat.
    Refer to: Second Row Center Seat (501-10B Second Row Seats, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the bolt and position the second row center seatbelt anchor aside.
    Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

  1. Remove the second row center seatbelt guide bezel.
    1. Remove the cover.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Release the bezel guide pins.
    1. Route the seatbelt through the bezel.
  1. Remove the second row center seat head restraint guide sleeves.
    Refer to: Second Row Seat Head Restraint Guide Sleeve (501-10B Second Row Seats, Removal and Installation).
  1. Release the retainers and remove the manual fold release strap bezel.

  1. Lift the second row center seat backrest cover.
    1. Remove the child safety seat tether anchor bezel.
      Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
    1. Release the J-clip.
    1. Unzip the backrest cover.
    1. Lift the backrest cover.
  1. Remove the hook-and-loop retainers and position the second row center seat backrest cover aside.
  1. Remove the second row center seatbelt buckle.
    Refer to: Second Row Center Seatbelt Buckle (501-20A Seatbelt Systems, Removal and Installation).

  1. Remove the second row center seat center valance.
    1. Release the retainer.
    1. Release the retainer.

  1. Remove the second row center seat LH side shield.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Detach the retainers.
      Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
    1. Lift the second row center seat side shield and pull outward.
    1. Lift the second row center seat side shield and pull outward.
    1. Push the second row center seat side shield forward.

  1. Remove the second row center seat RH side shield.
    1. Remove the screws.
    1. Detach the retainers.
      Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
    1. Lift the second row center seat side shield and pull outward.
    1. Lift the second row center seat side shield and pull outward.
    1. Push the second row center seat side shield forward.
  1. If equipped.
    Remove the second row seat armrest.
    Refer to: Second Row Seat Armrest (501-10B Second Row Seats, Removal and Installation).
    1. Route the manual fold release handle through the second row center seat backrest cover and foam.
    1. Route the second row center seatbelt anchor through the backrest cover.
    1. Remove the second row center seat backrest cover and foam as an assembly.
  1. NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.

    NOTICE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and arrow or the hook may be torn from the seat backrest foam.

    NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.


    Remove the second row center seat backrest cover.
    1. Invert the cover.
    1. Release the hook-and-loop strips.
    1. Release the hook-and-arrows.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
