Lincoln Aviator: Glass, Frames and Mechanisms / Removal and Installation - Rear Door Glass Top Run

Removal

NOTE: LH (left-hand) side shown, RH (right-hand) side similar.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the rear door window regulator and motor.
    Refer to: Rear Door Window Regulator and Motor (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Removal and Installation).

  1. Lower the rear door window glass to the full down position.
    1. Remove the tape from the rear door window glass.
    1. Lower the rear door window glass to the full down position.

  1. Remove upper interior rear door trim.
    1. Remove the pin-type retainers.
    1. Release the upper interior rear door trim.
    1. Release the upper interior rear door trim.
    1. Release the upper interior rear door trim.
    1. Remove the upper interior rear door trim.
  1. Remove the rear door inner belt moulding.

  1. Remove the rear door outer belt moulding.
    1. Release the pin-type retainers and position the weatherstrip aside.
    1. Remove the rear door outer belt moulding screw.
      Torque: 12 lb.in (1.3 Nm)
    1. Release the pin-type retainer and position the weatherstrip aside.
    1. Remove the rear door outer belt moulding screw.
      Torque: 12 lb.in (1.3 Nm)
    1. Remove the rear door outer belt moulding.

  1. Remove the rear door upper moulding.
    1. Remove the screw.
      Torque: 33 lb.in (3.7 Nm)
    1. Position the rear door top run aside.
    1. Release the retainer.
    1. Release the retainer and remove the rear door upper moulding.

  1. Remove the rear door glass top run.
    1. Remove the nut.
      Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)
    1. Release the clips and position the rear door glass top run.
    1. Position the rear door glass top run.
    1. Remove the rear door glass top run.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Carry out the power door window initialization.
    Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).
