Removal
NOTICE:
During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely
important. Any foreign material, including any material created while
cleaning gasket surfaces, that enters the oil passages, coolant passages
or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

Remove LH
CAC intake pipe.
Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 3.0L EcoBoost/3.0L EcoBoost – Hybrid (BQ), Removal and Installation).

Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05A Accessory Drive - 3.0L EcoBoost, Removal and Installation).

NOTE:
If further disassembly of the engine will be
performed, retain the original crankshaft pulley bolt for removing the
crankshaft front seal, and if necessary, turning the crankshaft while
the pulley is removed.
Remove and discard the crankshaft pulley bolt.

Using a universal puller, remove the crankshaft pulley.
Use the General Equipment: Three Leg Puller
Installation

NOTE:
Component(s) must be lubricated with clean engine oil.
Lubricate the crankshaft front seal inner lip with clean engine oil.

NOTE:
Component(s) must be lubricated with clean engine oil.
Lubricate the crankshaft pulley sealing surface with clean engine oil prior to installation.

Using the special tools, install the crankshaft pulley.
Use Special Service Tool: 303-335

Installer, Front Cover Oil Seal.
, 303-1531
Installer, Front Crank Seal and Damper.

Using a universal pulley holder, install and tighten a new crankshaft pulley bolt.
Torque:
Stage 1:
166 lb.ft (225 Nm)
Stage 2:
Loosen:
360°
Stage 3:
26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
Stage 4:
270°

Install the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt (303-05A Accessory Drive - 3.0L EcoBoost, Removal and Installation).

Install LH
CAC intake pipe.
Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe (303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 3.0L EcoBoost/3.0L EcoBoost – Hybrid (BQ), Removal and Installation).

Use the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Misfire Monitor
Profile Correction routine in the diagnostic scan tool.
