Lincoln Aviator: Bumpers / Disassembly and Assembly - Front Bumper Cover
DISASSEMBLY
-
Remove the front bumper cover.
Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

If equipped.
Disconnect the electrical connector, the retainers and remove the engine block heater wiring harness.

Disconnect the radiator grille emblem electrical connector.
-
Disconnect the front park aid camera coaxial cable connector.
-
Detach the front camera washer hose coupling.
-
Disconnect the turn signal lamp electrical connectors.
-
Disconnect the front parking aid and front active park assist sensor electrical connectors.
-
Disconnect the side repeater lamp electrical connectors.
-
Disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors.
-
Separate the harness guides, harness retainers and remove the front bumper cover harness.
-
On both sides.
Remove the screws and the turn signal lamp assembly.
Torque:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
-
On both sides.
Remove the screws and the foglamp assembly.
Torque:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

On both sides.
Release the tabs and remove the side repeater lamp.

NOTE:
Make sure that the isolator rings are installed correctly while installing the sensors.
Remove the front parking aid sensors and front active park assist sensors.

Release the tabs.
-
Remove the front parking aid sensors and front active park assist sensors from the bracket.
-
Drill the rivets, release the tabs and remove the lower grille panel.
-
On both sides.
Release the tabs and remove the intake outboard grille trim.
-
Remove the screws, speed nut, release the tabs and remove the air intake lower grille trim.
-
Drill the rivets, release the tabs and remove the lower bumper cover panel.
-
If equipped.
Drill the rivets and remove the license plate bracket.
-
Release the tabs and remove the tow hook cover.
-
Remove the screws and the radiator grille reinforcement.
-
Remove the screws and the radiator grille.
-
Remove the screws and the camera bracket.
-
Remove the front parking aid camera and washer nozzle hose assembly.
-
Release the tabs and remove the camera washer nozzle.
-
Remove the speed nuts, the screw, release the tabs and remove the radiator grille emblem housing assembly.
-
Release the tabs and remove the radiator grille frame.
-
On both sides.
Drill the rivets and remove the front bumper cover to fender bracket.
ASSEMBLY

To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE:
Carry out the folowing step if installing a new front camera.
Initialize the camera.

Carry out the 360° camera alignment.
Refer to: 360 Degree View Camera Alignment (413-13B Parking Aid - Vehicles With: Parking Aid Camera, General Procedures).

Adjust the fog lamp.
Refer to: Front Fog Lamp Adjustment (417-01 Exterior Lighting, General Procedures).

Check the alignment of the front parking aid and front active park assist sensors.
Refer to: Azimuth System Check (413-13A Parking Aid - Vehicles With: Rear Parking Aid, General Procedures).
Refer to: Elevation System Check (413-13A Parking Aid - Vehicles With: Rear Parking Aid, General Procedures).

If any sensor fails the check, diagnose the sensor fault.

number of operations before the power is
depleted and turns off. When the system
turns off, the door remains open and
unlatched and does not close.
If your vehicle has no power and the backup
power system is turned off, you can close
and secure your vehicle by manually
resetting each door latch using a key in the
position shown.
